Coming February 1, 2011, I am proud to announce a collaboration with long-time friend and acclaimed poet and rapper George Watsky. I will be a featured vocalist on "Man of Constant Sorrow," a reimagined version of the classic folk song. "Watsky & Mody," is the latest EP from Watsky and writing partner Kush Mody, and combines a unique blend of hip hop, folk rock, and bluegrass. I am very proud of this project, and eternally grateful for the opportunity to work with my old friends.

I am pleased to announce that Milwaukee Rep will be teaming up with Ten Chimneys, the estate founded by Broadway legends Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne, to present Ferenc Molnar’s THE PLAY’S THE THING on Monday, August 31, 2010 at 7:00 PM.

Play Readings at Ten Chimneys takes audiences back to the “Golden Age of Radio” as actors from Milwaukee Repertory Theater recreate the plays made famous by “the golden couple of Broadway,” Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne. Playwright Ferenc Molnár is best known as the author of the smash hit comedy THE GUARDSMAN. Molnár’s 1926 comedy, THE PLAY’S THE THING, features an engaging cast of characters who find themselves as a literal cast of characters in this play-within-a-play, which blithely blurs the line between reality and illusion.

Play Readings at Ten Chimneys are presented at the Lunt-Fontanne Program Center in Genesee Depot, WI. Admission is $15 in advance, or $20 at the door. Calls to reserve space are requested at (262) 968-4110.

I am excited to announce that I will appear in the 2010 summer season at Shakespeare Santa Cruz in James Goldman’s classic, “The Lion in Winter” (also running in repertory is OTHELLO and LOVE’S LABOR’S LOST). The play stars A.C.T. and Oregon Shakespeare Festival veteran Marco Barricelli and The Old Globe's Kandis Chappell, and will be directed by Richard E.T. White. This is a bit of a dream for me, as I grew up watching Marco and Richard’s work at A.C.T. as a kid.

“This quintessential drama of family strife will keep you on the edge of your seat using crackling dialogue, biting cleverness, and delivered with historical and psychological insight. James Goldman’s 'The Lion In Winter' depicts the battle between Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitaine as they pit sex and politics against each other to choose which of their three scheming sons will be the next heir to the British throne.

Turning domestic toil into a heightened art form, the events in 'The Lion In Winter' unfold as though they take place in 21st century America, rather than 12th century Europe: insecure siblings fighting for their parents’ attention; bickering spouses who can’t stand to be together or apart; adultery and sexual experimentation; and even the struggle to balance work and family.”

Tickets can be purchased online, or by phone at: 831.459.2159

The Adventures of Pinocchio
produced by Chicago Shakespeare Theater
music and lyrics by Neil Bartram • book by Brian Hill
directed by Rachel Rockwell

July 13 – August 28, 2011, Courtyard Theatre

Joseph Jefferson Award-winner Rachel Rockwell directs a new adaptation of the old Italian story of a wooden puppet yearning to be a real boy. The story springs to life with inventive and awe-inspiring puppetry, transforming Chicago Shakespeare Theater's Courtyard Theater into a larger-than-life, European marionette stage. Carved out of wood by the lonely toymaker Geppetto, Pinocchio tumbles from one disastrous situation to another in search of adventure—only to discover that, in the end, all he really needs is an unselfish heart and the love of his father. Based on Carlo Collodi's classic tale, and featuring an original book and score by Broadway writing team Neil Bartram and Brian Hill, this world premiere musical illuminates the bond between parents and children in a magical performance that is sure to enchant audiences of all ages!

For tickets, please visit Chicago Shakespeare Theatre's box office, or call: 312.595.5600<img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/103892/1328064/prod-12_PINO_640.jpg" width="640" height="154" width_o="655" height_o="158" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/103892/1328064/prod-12_PINO_o.jpg" data-mid="6519989" border="0" align="left"/>
